Delhi University is all set to conduct joint entrance test for bachelor of business studies (BBS), bachelor of business economics (BBE) and bachelor of financial investment and analysis (BFIA) courses from this year onwards.

But only students, who had, mathematics in their class XII are eligible to sit for the entrance test for these courses. The application procedure has been made online and forms can be downloaded from the internet from April 5 to May 4.

The entrance test will be held simultaneously in Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Kolkata on June 6.

The step to have common test for the three streams was taken after nearly 15,000 students applied for these courses last year.
Last year we witnessed several candidates applying for more than one course, and the content of the BBE and BBS entrance tests was mostly the same. So there was no point in shaving different test for all these courses and then again later sit for the counselling separately, said Rashmi Aggarwal, head of department, BBE.

Ten colleges in Delhi University offer BBE course while BBS is taught in three colleges Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and Keshav Mahavidyala. BFIA is offered in only Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies.

From now on only students who had maths in class XII can apply for these courses.

S.K Garg, principal of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, said in the last few years Delhi University has seen that those who apply without having studied maths in class XII are few in number.

In BBS we have two papers of maths and statistics and those who havent studied mathematics in Class XII find it tough to cope with the syllabus. We are now revising the syllabus and will add more of mathematics in BBS so that students pick up quantitative skills, Garg said.
