We had a little survey among hopeful MBA candidates and this is what they had to say on “why would I want to be an MBA”
a
The Glitz.
The glamour loving youngsters accepted “we like the formal dress of an MBA – the suit, the coat, the tie, the file and the plush cabin… also the Parker pen”.

a

Show me the MoNEY.
There is one section that wants to be an MBA to collect wherewithal for luxury. “I like the money” is there motto.
(Well, we all love money. Don’t  we)
a
I’ m My Boss!
Another bunch of youngsters vehemently answered “I love to boss around”.
A taciturn answer that says all.
a
The IIM infatuation.
Yet another group winced “I want to see IIM-A”.
a
Follow The Herd.
“That is what everybody is doing. Aren’t they?” was another category’s comatose reply.

a

SleePYheads.
There are few who seemed to be lost as they prattled “Don’t know”. Probably they queue up for MBA merely because they see others queued up.

a
And there comes the most deliberate chunk that has done their homework well and knows what they are getting into. “Everyone has to be a manager. Whatever you do, you need to know to manage it well” is what they said.
Well said!

It is paradoxical that most of the MBA (most, not all) aspirants are not very sure why they want to choose MBA as their career. We believe that knowing the reasons for your choice is very important as it would help you do your tests methodically and get a better result. So, next time when you slog hard, in some coaching centre, for the MBA entrance test, be sure what and why an MBA is.
